Hi! I’m Amara (pronounced like “camera”), based in Denver, CO.

I am a freelance illustrator with a focus on outdoor- and nature-based artwork spreading knowledge and beauty. Through creating traditional illustrations, paintings, sketches, and figure drawings, I hope to bring joy and education to people. I’m always trying something new within my art practice, including floral arrangements and the occasional large-scale painting. I’m currently earning a BFA in Illustration with a focus in children’s books at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design.

I like going for long hikes, spotting animals, creating content, hanging out in the hammock by a lake, and using the sketchbook as a creative practice in journaling. I’ve thru-hiked the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail, rode a motorcycle for a while. I’m always looking for a new adventure.
